We're an advancing team for the Lexus Eco Challenge! Help us with our goal of making our world a healthier place one tree at a time! We recently planted a bunch of trees
to help solve the problem of ozone depletion. In order to take our plan to the next level, we did some research about the ozone layer:
One of the layers surrounding the earth
is the ozone layer. It is very important because it helps to stop some of the sun’s ultra-violet rays from getting through to the earth.
Too much UV rays can cause
bad health effects on people, plants and animals.
Ozone layer depletion has become a problem because there are gases called chloro-flouro-carbons that cause damage to it.
CFCs are used in some spray cans, refrigerators, air conditioning systems and other items.
In our first project we learned that by planting trees we could help the ozone
layer because trees absorb UV rays.
So, planting trees is a great and easy way to help but there is more we can do!
Keep following us and we will show you more ways that we can all help reduce ozone depletion.
